Jerry Lynn, The
New F’N Show, the man that came into the WWF after coming off one of the
biggest feuds in ECW history with Rob Van Dam, the man that came out of that
feud looking damn good in the eyes of anyone that saw the feud not only had
Jerry put on some great matches with RVD, his mikes skills were on the up and
Jerry was pretty much on the top of his game.
If you haven’t
guessed by now, I will tell you yes I am a Jerry Lynn mark, but why the hell
shouldn’t I be, the guy has a great mat game, he can do the aerial stuff, in
the ring he can pretty much do it all, okay maybe he’s not the best talker in
the business, he ain’t no Linda McMahon but then again he ain’t no Rock
either.
So Jerry Lynn
coming to the WWF, were my expectations high? Damn right they were, I was ready
to watch Jerry come in and destroy the WWF middle card, I mean this guy had
feuded with RVD, this guy had been ECW World Champion and most importantly this
guy could wrestle.
So Jerry’s WWF debut happened on the night of Backlash 2001, but his debut wasn’t at Backlash, oh no, it was at Sunday Night Heat before Backlash, Jerry came out to face the then Light Heavyweight Champion Crash, and Jerry picked up the win and the belt by grabbing a handful of tights.
Jerry had a run
with the Lightweight Title for a bit, which usually involved him defending it on
Heat and Metal, he eventually dropped the title to Jeff Hardy and since that
time he hasn’t really been involved in much storyline wise, reports stated
that Vince doesn’t want to push Jerry until he gets his character across to
the WWF fans, at the moment Jerry is involved in the Midcard World Order’s
battle against the WCW Invaders, although it has to be said that even there
Jerry isn’t really doing that much.
So the future for Jerry who knows? Maybe he will get back in the Light Heavyweight belt chase, maybe the European belt is calling his name or more than likely he will carry on with Essa in the best out of 847 matches challenge on Metal.
